CA launches new security product

CA's latest release tackles identity and access management

Written by Kim Thomas

CA has launched a new version of its identity and access management solution, CA IAM r12, with an emphasis on improved regulatory compliance and better security for enterprises using service-oriented architectures (SOA).

The new version enables organisations to extend identity and access management functionality to all business services, making it easier to implement policy-based security rules. It offers improved security controls on SOA architectures, both on distributed and mainframe platforms, and provides reporting facilities to make regulatory compliance easier. IAM r12 also offers support for the IPv6 and FIPS PUB 140-2 standards, and improved identity federation to make it easier for organisations to do business securely with each other.

CA is rolling out IAM r12 in phases. The first phase will include CA SOA Security Manager and new versions of CA SiteMinder, CA Directory and five CA solutions for z/OS. CA SOA Security Manager will provide identity-based web services security, including authentication, authorisation, auditing and protection against XML threats.
