The firm announced the release yesterday, claiming that it would save firms on infrastructure costs, while also ensuring the performance and availability of database applications.

According to a statement ASE Cluster edition lets firms maintain optimum service levels, provides an over view of resources and maximize resource allocation.

Dr Raj Nathan, chief marketing officer at Sybase said, "We are pleased that we've been able to develop ASE Cluster edition so that our customers, who run some of the world's most critical data, are able to cost-effectively achieve unprecedented service levels."
