C&W seeks scale with Energis buy
Cable & Wireless last week agreed to acquire telecoms rival Energis in a deal that will give Energis creditors between £594m and £800m. The move will give Cable & Wireless more bulk to compete with BT and will lead to 700 job cuts by 2008.
