Compuware boosts visibility into VoIP

Compuware's Vantage management console provides a view of IP telephony performance

Phil Muncaster, IT Week 03 Apr 2007

Compuware last week released a new version of its Vantage service IT  management solution, designed to provide firms with end-user experience monitoring and business impact analytics and the ability to measure voice over IP (VoIP) performance.

Vantage 10 aims to provide operational managers with "a correlated view of performance and causes through one console", according to Compuware senior product manager Lloyd Bloom.

The solution supports both Java and .Net application analytics, and also enables IT managers to prioritise tasks. A dashboard can highlight how many unique users are trying to use a particular application and how many are suffering a poor experience, Bloom said.

"It's all about getting your people working on the right thing and presenting the information in a way that the technician who has to fix the problem can understand," he added.

Vantage 10 also includes Voip monitoring, generating reports that can show managers the number of degraded calls and other network metrics.
