Teneros enlists e92plus

Vendor signs e92plus as sole UK distributor

Written by Doug Woodburn

Application continuity vendor Teneros is aiming to recruit 20 Microsoft Exchange resellers in 2007 after signing an exclusive UK distribution deal with e92plus.

The vendor inked its first UK distribution pact in 2005 with Mindshare, but began the hunt for a new ally when Mindshare shifted its focus to end-users.

Patrick Conte, executive vice president at Teneros, said: “E92plus is substantial enough from a financial standpoint to launch our line into the reseller channel, and has experience with appliances.”

VARs working in the financial services and legal markets top Conte’s wish-list.

Mukesh Gupta, managing director of security distributor e92plus, said: “Our role is to recruit 20 resellers involved in Exchange or business continuity and create a market for Teneros.

“Teneros’s appliance allows firms to keep their Exchange server running at all times - if it goes down, it switches over to the Teneros box. There is huge potential for all our VARs to get involved.”

Gupta added Teneros’s sweet spot lies in the 250 to 1,000 user space.

Teneros plans to establish a direct presence in the UK in the next 12 months, but Conte stressed the vendor’s partnership with e92plus would remain exclusive for the foreseeable future.

He added that Teneros’s three existing UK VARs, including Mindshare, would probably choose to buy through distribution in the future.
