This week the monkeys argued over the correct pronunciation of the word Lemur. Some monkeys thought it should be pronounced to rhyme with Muir, as in Frank Muir, others thought it should be pronounced the correct way. Like femur.
You would think that monkeys could find an alternative means of reaching an agreement than wildly biting and tearing at each others' flesh. Sadly they cannot.
Ah well. They did manage to decide on who should be writing all the IT news. Yeah, us, the non-hair face bunch.

Security solutions provider McAfee has announced its new security platform,
ePolicy Orchestrator 4.0. The platform will let businesses manage their security
requirements from a single console, as well as add in compliance products from
multiple vendors.

ERP vendor Lawson is bullish about its
future
ERP vendor Lawson Software is shaping up to take customers from its mid-market
rivals, and move up market to hurt Oracle and SAP in their traditional "sweet
spots", according to chief executive Harry Debes. However, analysts suggest that
customers may pursue a wait and see policy before they make the jump.

The Foleo was a distraction best
forgotten
Daniel Robinson says that Palm's decision to drop the Foloe phone companion
is one that the firm will live to see the benefits of. Robbo says that the Foleo
plug-pulling will free Palm up enough time and space to develop a new platform
with which it can challenge Windows Mobile. However, he warns that time is of
the essence, so the firm had better pull its finger out.
