Welcome to the IT Week Insider
This week, the monkeys participated in an experiment to see how disabled people use the internet. It wasn’t particularly scientific - a shipment of teargas ordered via an online auction site turned out to be improperly packaged and leaked while waiting to be opened by the simians, who were, at that time harassing staff members.
Those unlucky souls in the office found themselves blinded by the fumes and had to spend the rest of the afternoon crawling around on their hands and knees searching for a mouse, or even a keyboard. Productivity sagged, but all the on-floor groping dropped a few personal barriers in the office. Which is always good.

Giant readies host-friendly CRM
Microsoft has revealed more details of its host-friendly customer
relationship management tool, the funkily named CRM 4.0. Some times you hunt all
day long for a joke only to find that it has run off, along with your will to
live. Ah well, this story is included in the Insider anyway, not least of all
because it features a character named Pombriant, who works at Beagle Research.

Business Objects shifts attention to
mid-market
Business Objects revealed that it intends to focus its attention – well some of
its attention – on mid-market firms. You know, those ones that eventually every
firm decides to focus its intention on. The BI firm said while it has
traditionally focused on the enterprise market, the increased profits to be
gained from targeting the mid-market platform has shifted its attention. Its
candour is certainly refreshing.
