The SoMo 650 is a good, solid device designed for business applications, and fills the niche between low-cost smartphones and very costly rugged handhelds. Its built-in support for Socket barcode scanners and other peripherals makes it well suited for inventory applications, but the device can equally serve in any environment where Wi-Fi is available rather than a wide-area connection.

PROS: Semi-rugged, built-in drivers for Socket peripherals

CONS: Battery life may suffer with heavy use of wireless
