Workshare and Secure Computing unite on security

Workshare and Secure Computing team up on outbound security

Written by Phil Muncaster

Data security specialist Workshare and internet security vendor Secure Computing have announced a new outbound content security appliance designed to protect firms from accidental or deliberate data leakages.

Workshare Network Protect for IronMail is fully interoperable with Secure Computing's IronMail messaging security and content management products, and Workshare's Protect Enterprise Suite, according to Workshare's director of product marketing, Matthew Brown.

"It's the only solution that provides both network and endpoint security; other solutions cover just network monitoring or simple client-side technology, " he explained. "It's also the only solution to protect hidden information in content at the client and gateway."

The appliance features Secure's advanced content-filtering techniques such as fingerprinting and lexical analysis, support for over 370 file formats, and uses Secure technology to enable remediation actions such as blocking or encryption, he added.

"It's a solution that is required by the market and we can bring it to more organisations [this way] than we could do separately," explained Workshare's Samia Rauf.

The product is available immediately through Secure Computing and its channel partners.
