Kalido updates master data management suite

New warehousing software from Kalido makes it easier for firms to detect and fix data quality problems

Written by James Murray

Data warehousing specialist Kalido has today unveiled an update to its master data management (MDM) software that boasts improved performance and scalability and enhanced tools for tackling data quality issues.

Kalido MDM 8r3 is designed to improve the quality of corporate data by driving consistent definitions across the business and detecting data quality problems.

Brian Hartlen, vice-president of marketing at the vendor, said that customers using previous editions of the software had sometimes found it difficult to rectify data quality problems once they were detected. He said the new version’s enhanced workflow functionality makes it easier for administrators to manage the process.

"Kalido MDM 8r3 uses workflow functionality to automate the notification process and ensure data quality problems are sent to the right people to look into and you don’t end up with multiple people working on the same issue," he said.

The suite also features a new API that improves integration with a wide range of data sources, including business intelligence software, and improved scalability and performance for supporting large-scale data warehouse environments.

Hartlen said the new version would ship at the end of the month.
