Troux adds advanced BI to platform

Updated Enterprise Architecture platform features advanced reporting and BPM capabilities.

Written by James Murray

IT governance software specialist Troux Technologies has unveiled a major update to its Enterprise Architecture design and management platform, featuring advanced business intelligence (BI) reporting, and project and business process modelling capabilities.

The company said Troux 7 features a new module called Troux Initiatives that is designed to help firms assess how business transformation initiatives and associated IT projects will impact performance and the bottom line.

Jim Van Riper, vice president of product planning and development, said the new module would allow firms to model how business and IT decisions would impact a given project.

“Troux’s platform has traditionally shown users the current state of their architecture, but this new framework allows them to create multiple alternatives of the future and multiple milestones and compare them to help the decision maker select the right project approach,” Van Riper said.

Van Riper added that once the user has selected an approach based on the modelling capabilities, the data can be fed into project management software suites to execute the development work.

James Rogers, chief strategy office at the company, said that the new modelling capability was also highly scalable, boasting the ability to handle tens of thousands of different data objects and millions of relationships.
