Juniper Networks has updated its WAN acceleration platform with three new models which it claims can deliver massive improvements in performance.
Its latest generation of WAN acceleration appliances use new technology to minimise the traffic transmitted over the network and prioritises the most business-critical packets.
There are three appliances in the WXC series including: a SME branch office-focussed 1U high 1800 version; a 1U high 2600 appliance aimed at medium to large branch offices and small datacentres; and the 2U high 3400 appliance, designed for datacentres and central offices.
Juniper claimed that the appliances can deliver a 100-fold increase in effective WAN capacity through the introduction of network sequence caching technology, which allows the device to store repeated data patterns.
“Juniper’s WXC application acceleration platform has been deployed by some of the world’s largest organisations based on its ability to fuel large-scale, high-stake customer interactions and transactions real-time,” said Ross Roesner, vice president, WAN Acceleration, Juniper Networks in a statement.
Juniper Networks WXC 1800, 2600 and 3400 appliances are available now, costing £2,450 + VAT for the WXC 1800 with support up to 10 connections, £6,200 + VAT for the WXC 2600 with support up to 20 connections, and £12,500 + VAT for the WXC 3400 with support up to 140 connections.
