Visual Studio 2008 has a dazzling array of new features that programmers developing Windows applications would find useful.

Pros : Vast array of features; Support for Windows Presentation Foundation ; Linq enables easy access to a variety of data sources.

Cons : Code profiling and optimisation tools not available in VS 2008 Professional Edition; Linq only supports SQL Server databases.
