European PC manufacturer Packard Bell has announced the launch of the EasyNote XS, a notebook weighing 950g and measuring 30mm thick when closed.
The device is aimed at highly mobile users who find full-sized notebooks too cumbersome and PDAs or Ultra Mobile PCs too limited.
"For all of us who want to stay connected in a comfortable way, this is the perfect companion," said Emmanuel Fromont, vice president of sales and marketing at Packard Bell.
"It has all the functionalities of a notebook, it just happens to be very small."
As well as a 7in screen, the EasyNote XS includes built-in Wi-Fi, VGA webcam, 4-in-1 memory card reader and two USB 2.0 connectors.
It is powered by Via's C7-M Ultra Mobile CPU and includes 1GB of Ram and a 30GB hard drive. In keeping with the mobile worker focus, the notebook also boasts over three hours of battery life with wireless on.
Pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed but the EasyNote XS should be appearing on shelves across the EU very soon.
